Caso Christopher : El deseo, de deseo imposible en la neurosis obsesiva.

Abstract

“C” is an obsessive neurotic patient whose life didn't cause him any major problem. In his professional, family and marital life, he felt that he fulfilled what he had to do in each of these areas; trying to get the Other to see him as the good son, the good father and a good husband. The thrust to compliance was accompanied by a series of reproaches towards himself as he still felt that it was not enough for the other. Of these others, the main one seemed to be his mother, from whom came the most important imperatives to “C”. It is after the death of this mother that the patient begins to feel symptoms related to sadness, depression, anger, isolation, and others. A series of events awaken in him questions by his symptoms and the decisions he has taken so far. The following case will present an analysis of the signifiers that present in “C”, his position about not knowing what to do with his desire, his defensive mechanisms, and how his desire is affected when the signifiers that hold his phantom fall in some form.
