Abstract

The present investigative work was requested by the Municipal Government of the Durán Canton, belonging to the province of Guayas, which has a series of entrepreneurship and innovation programs for the city and among them is the design of a Park-Library located in the sector of La Ferroviaria. The design of the project was based on a compositional element so that the building is permeable to pedestrian traffic, this being the initial purpose. The library has capacity for 500 people (intended for children, adolescents and adults) with different spaces for the need of each of the users in order to encourage study. The proposal arises with the need for a public plaza-type space where recreational activities are held with courts, open-air events, children's play spaces and the building intended for the library. In addition, it is possible that the consequence of the abandonment and lack of use of this type of crime is due to the fact that the implementation of a library within the canton makes its inhabitants able to instruct, increase intellectual growth and forget the belief of boredom; and in turn, improve the culture, allow free access to books and little by little the need to restrict them
