Abstract

This work is a research that deals with the "Social Effects of the April 2016 Earthquake on the Quality of Life of the Population, Perceptions of the inhabitants of the" Mirador "neighborhood of the city of Manta", through this research it is sought to collect information on how the people that inhabit this sector have been seen and have been their resilient and protective ways in the face of this disaster. This study was carried out through a mixed (qualitative-quantitative) research, of an exploratory type in which surveys, interviews and focus groups will be applied as an instrument for the collection of information. This study has been carried out in Manta in the Mirador neighborhood since one of the sectors that was affected by the natural disaster. The sample will be of 120 families for the quantitative part (surveys), in addition to the participants of the neighborhood committee who receive information for the medium of an interview and focus groups are conducted for the population to describe how it was and is living a catastrophe natural.
