Abstract

The work outlined in this document refers to an academic exercise whose purpose is to develop the architectural blueprints of the Technological Educational Center Talentos Deportivos Fedeguayas, located in Guayaquil. This center can be found inside the Guayas Sporting Federation sporting complex, which is in the Modelo gated community and located across from Kennedy Avenue. The center offers free academic education to all athletes selected by the Guayas Sporting Federation in their various disciplines. This project is geared towards the selected youth, preadolescent and adolescent athletes who are close to finishing their primary and secondary studies. Similarly, for those among the general public who wish to participate in the Higher Technological Institute, they may obtain higher education degrees as technicians in sports management. Therefore, the architectural design seeks to provide flexible and collective learning spaces that accommodate both educational programs in the same building while permitting the completion of academic activities. The research was conducted by applying required techniques for this type of project such as: field visits, photo registration, interviews with the members of the sporting complex, and site analyses. Based on the investigation, a study was carried out in regards to the current lay-out of the sporting complex. This study is represented by several graphs that explain the possible urban and architectural intervention strategies that upon application result in the formal, functional, constructive and ambient solution proposed in this project.
