Cadena de Valor del sector arrocero del cantón Daule, Provincia del Guayas y su evaluación, Caso de estudio: Piladora Angelita

Abstract

The analysis of the value chain of the rice sector of the canton Daule, province of Guayas, considers a big importance given the high consumption at a national level as a product of first necessity in the basic basket of Ecuador. Through the comparison with the model of the value chain of the rice sector that the Ministry of Agriculture, Cattle rising, Aquaculture and Fishing (MAGAP) we define the direct and indirect actors of the value chain, with their own problematics, that go from the estate and their laws, and the autonomous control organizations, including in the indirect actors of the value of chain of the rice sector, the funding sources, state and private. The links of the chain of value of the rice sector starts with the principal actors as producers (small, medium, large) which ones seek the next link that are the rice processors (small, medium, large) and passing through their respective distributors to reach the last link of the chain of value that is the market, national and international. Landing into an individual vision with the case of study of the rice processor “Angelita”, analyzing it´s environment and providing and improvement proposal according to its capabilities to survive and to stand out in the market where it is, coping internal and external problems with its respective analysis.
