Conocimiento de la lactancia materna en las madres adolescentes que acuden a un hospital del sur de Guayaquil.

Abstract

Currently there are a large number of adolescent mothers who are totally unaware of the importance of breastfeeding, not having the necessary knowledge at the time of breastfeeding, the benefits that help the child to immunize, for development and growth, to the mother to regenerate calcium, CA from uterus and mammary glands. The objective: of this study is to identify the knowledge of breastfeeding in adolescent mothers who attend a hospital in the south of Guayaquil. Materials and methods: quantitative study of a descriptive, cross-sectional, prospective type. Population: 100 adolescent mothers. Technique: Survey. Instrument: questionnaire of questions. Results: 67% of adolescent mothers have no knowledge of breastfeeding, 68% do not know the optimal time to provide breastfeeding and 47% consider suspending it at 6 months. Regarding the benefits of breastfeeding 55% do not know the benefits. 62% know the benefits. The 100 surveys, 66% reported not having received training on breastfeeding. Conclusion: it is necessary to carry out training that allows changes in knowledge, attitudes and practices about breastfeeding.
